Uninsured/Underinsured Coverage

Changes in Arizona law no longer make it mandatory to have "Uninsured Motorist" and "Underinsured Motorist" coverage.* Recently insurance companies mailed notices to their customers stating how much money can be saved by dropping "Uninsured/ Underinsured Motorist" coverage.

Unfortunately, we have learned that due to these circumstances, many of our clients and friends have dropped their "Uninsured and Underinsured" coverage, even though it is not very expensive. Some reports show that as many as 40% of the drivers in Arizona do not have auto insurance. Accordingly, if you are involved in an accident with one of those drivers and have dropped your "Uninsured Motorist" coverage, you may be left to pay thousands of dollars in medical bills.

For a small amount (often less than $100 a year), you can elect to keep the "Uninsured and Underinsured Motorist" insurance on your vehicles. This coverage is important to keep in order to protect you and your family. We suggest that you check your policy today by looking at a recent bill or calling your agent to insure that this coverage is in effect for you.
